Reportedly, CPD Officers responded to a 911 call reporting suspicious individuals in a loading dock/parking lot behind businesses on Temple Street around 8 p.m.. Responding officers spoke with multiple people in the area before encountering Woodworth, who was sitting in his vehicle. Police said the man, later identified as Woodworth, got out of the vehicle and pointed a loaded gun at the officers. According to a Cambridge police spokesperson and multiple shots were fired. Boston, MA Linwood Square Roxbury March 11, 2026 Black | Male | 39 Years Old Boston Police Driving Authorities say the man killed by Boston police after he allegedly tried to flee a traffic stop in a stolen car last week has been identified as Stephenson King, 39, of Dorchester. The Suffolk District Attorney’s Office released his name in a news release containing few details about the police shooting, which left Stephenson dead. Officials said he accelerated and struck a Boston police cruiser in the moments before police shot him. Stephenson is alleged to have committed a carjacking outside a pizza restaurant in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood around 9:45 p.m. March 11, according to police. The mother of a restaurant employee was waiting outside to pick her up — when a man approached her and demanded the vehicle, a manager told the Globe. About 15 minutes later, officers stopped the stolen car less than a mile away at Linwood Square in Roxbury. According to BPD, The driver ignored “multiple verbal commands” as officers approached the car on foot, then tried to drive away, Police Commissioner Michael Cox said at the scene. A man who lives in the area and witnessed the shooting said the situation escalated extremely quickly. The officer involved, Nicholas O’Malley, has since been charged with mansluaghter and the family has retained trial lawyer Ben Crump as well as called on the BPD to release bodycam footage of the incident. Lexington, MA Hancock Street February 12, 2022 White | Male | 35 Years Old Lexington Police Department Mental Health Crisis Armed: Knife On February 12, 2022, at around noon, a jogger placed a 911 call reporting that a man was leaning out of the window of a house on Hancock Street screaming that someone was trying to kill him. Police arrived on the scene to find 35 year old Brendan Reilly holding a kitchen knife in the backyard of the house, a group home for people with addiction and mental health issues. According to police, officers repeatedly asked Reilly to drop the knife; when he failed to comply, they began firing bean bags rounds at him. In the commotion, Officer Steven Papia slipped and fell to the ground. Reilly allegedly advanced toward the fallen officer with the knife, and another officer, Joseph Carruthers, shot Reilly four times with his department-issued Glock 17 firearm. Reilly was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon. The family filed a wrongful death suit against the Town of Lexington, the officers involved and the company which managed the group home where Reilly was living at the time. Winchester police responded to the Parkview Apartments just after 8 p.m. after a security guard called 911 to report that a male resident of the building had reported an issue in his unit, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Winchester police Chief Peter MacDonnell said. According to the preliminary investigation, three officers heard noise coming from inside and when they entered saw the man, identified as Thomas Celona, 35, brandishing two knives, according to the statement.
